At the early onset of the pandemic, my mother (a nurse) encouraged me to wear a face mask. But at the time, they were hard to find! So, I stocked up whenever I found good reusable ones, especially if they were well-priced and looked somewhat stylish. Now, over the last two years, I’ve collected around 30 masks, but the ones I wear the most have to be these sparkly face masks from Heroine Sport.
The Heroine Sport metallic face masks are super breathable, have a pocket for inserting a filter, and, of course, are super cute. I’ve worn them to hot, crowded subways in New York City, long-distance plane rides, grocery stores and even the gym. I always get compliments, and my friends have a few of them now, too.
If you’re not familiar with the brand, Heroine Sport is known for its metallic activewear in flattering cuts. It’s based in New York City, and all of its products are made in the U.S. From sparkly leggings to shimmery sports bras, the brand is definitely one that stands out.
The face masks have a similar stretchy nylon and spandex material to the Heroine Sport’s activewear with a mesh inner lining and elastic ear loops. I usually handwash mine, as the brand recommends, but I’ve also tossed them in the washing machine with my laundry, and they’ve come out fine.
The masks come in packs of three and cost $36 at Saks Fifth Avenue. The pack includes metallic black, pink and silver masks. (You can see a picture of me wearing the pink above — it’s my favorite one.)
As Covid cases rise in many areas around the U.S., some schools and other indoor institutions (like my apartment complex) have been reinstating face mask-wearing. So, if you’re looking for a breathable, stretchy and stylish face mask, give Heroine Sport’s metallic face masks a shot. Personally, I’m purchasing more.
