The coronavirus may be spreading less quickly than it was just a few weeks ago, but it’s still not time to let your guard — or your face mask for that matter — down.
When fending off COVID-19, folks should wear reputable face masks like the N95 and KN95, which provide better protection from the coronavirus, according to medical experts.
The KN95 and N95 face masks, once hard to find because they were designated for mostly healthcare workers, have now been expanded and regular folks may order them for their personal protection.
N95 respirators are the PPE most often used to control exposures to infections transmitted via the airborne route, though their effectiveness is highly dependent upon proper fit and use. N95 respirators are intended to be used once and then properly disposed of and replaced with a new N95 respirator.
Meanwhile, China’s KN95s masks are pretty much an equivalent to the N95 masks used in the U.S.
Here are some places you can purchase the face masks and how much they cost.
